Wearing flipflops in Rome

Having been away for Salamba’s birthday, and everyone now being away for the Mawlid, we host a special 2 people party at, erm, Swansea’s new flat.

Salamba starts off very mature and acts according to general Senegalese etiquette at parties. Bored and slightly put off by the whole proceedings, she manages to gather up enough interest to drop her gaze onto one of the presents. Hmm. We persevere, and finally chocolate marbled cake, colouring books, a Kinder speedy gonzalez, magic tricks with a marble, her sister’s giggling, some tickling, the view from the terrace and fluorescent Africa fanta get the best of her. She smiles. Then giggles. On the way home it’s non stop chatting!
