Wearing flipflops in Rome

Traffic congestion and fashionistas in silk dresses and oversized sunglasses

Cobbles and mad traffic

Could be the name of this tumblr from now on. I am just recovering from a ghastly inslaught from Danish liquorice. It is liquorice, but it tastes salty. After about 15 seconds in your mouth (I managed to keep it for that long) a strong smell of petrol overpowers your cynuses…I dare anyone to NOT spit it out. I am now desperately chewing on a piece of gum to attempt to get rid of the flavour. It’s an acquired taste I guess :-).

Good thing there will be other exciting flavours and discoveries in Rome. Well, for a start, based on a 24 hour stay: taxi drivers do not recognise red lights (exciting? And scary. Fortunately it was football night so the streets were pretty empty…). Sunglasses are to be worn at all times (including inside a badly-lit airport). And Melon and prosciutto is yummy (I knew that) and cheap (I did not know that in Paris).
